Our strategic communications team leads both external and internal communications focused on increasing the university’s reputation among key stakeholders. From media relations and storytelling to strategic communications planning to handling issues and crisis management, we work with leaders and communications partners university-wide to share IU’s story.

Strategic Communications

  • Develops and maintains relationships with key internal and external audiences, including local, state, national, and international media
  • Creates and disseminates strategic messaging aligned with the organization’s goals
  • Monitors and evaluates the impact of communication strategies and media relations
  • Leads communications related to issues and crises ensuring the accurate and factual dissemination of information
  • Develops internal communications strategies and content related to university announcements and ongoing university-wide newsletters
