Jonathan Coffington serves as the Vice President and Chief Communications and Marketing Officer for Indiana University. In this role, he leads the university’s overall communications and marketing strategy.
Prior to joining IU as vice president, he directed the brand and digital, innovation and R&D, and North American commercial communications teams for Corteva Agriscience, a global agricultural technology company. He previously served as IU’s associate vice president for university communications and spent seven years as a senior communications consultant in the Indianapolis office of VOX Global, a public affairs firm.
He is also the former chief of staff to the president and associate vice president for communications at DePauw University and has held various political and government roles, serving as a press secretary on Capitol Hill and in public affairs at the U.S. Department of Defense.
Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from DePauw University and a Master of Arts in communication from Johns Hopkins University.
